TypeSprint for schools

TypeSprint is a free browser-based typing platform for schools: a 75-lesson touch-typing course per keyboard layout (QWERTZ, QWERTY, Spanish and Portuguese), real-time typing races, and classes where teachers follow their students' lesson results on a live dashboard.

At the moment it is completely free for schools - no license needed, no premium tier and no ads - and a class is ready to use in about 5 minutes.

Nothing needs to be installed: TypeSprint runs in the browser on any school PC, laptop or tablet with a physical keyboard.

A class takes about 5 minutes to set up and needs nothing but free accounts:

1. Create a free account with your email address or a Google or Microsoft login.
2. Create a class on the Classes page - you get a 6-character join code for your students.
3. Students sign up for free and enter the join code to appear in your class.
4. Students work through the touch-typing lessons; you follow their progress on the class page.

The class page shows a leaderboard of all students with their total stars and average typing speed, so you see at a glance who is on track. As the teacher, you can also open every student's individual lesson attempts with typing speed, accuracy and stars per lesson.

Students see the same class leaderboard, which keeps them motivated - but only the teacher sees individual attempt details and the join code.

Nothing at the moment. There is currently no premium tier, and your classes don't need a license: the whole platform - the touch-typing course, the typing races and the classroom features - is free for everyone.

TypeSprint is operated from Vienna, Austria, with an EU imprint and a GDPR privacy policy. There is no advertising, no tracking for ad purposes, and user data is never sold.

Accounts need only an email address, a username and a password (or a Google or Microsoft login) - no real names, no addresses, no phone numbers. Details are in the privacy policy and the imprint.

Schools can conclude a data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR with us: on request at contact@typesprint.io, or we sign your school's own template, for example the model agreement of your state or ministry.

The touch-typing course has a separate 75-lesson track for QWERTZ (the German layout, including ö, ä and ü), for QWERTY, for Spanish keyboards (including ñ and accents) and for Portuguese keyboards (including ç and accents). Each lesson takes about 5 minutes for a beginner, starts from the home row and adds two keys at a time. The whole platform is available in English, German, Spanish and Portuguese.
